Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the views of Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin, a prominent Russian historian, great writer, original thinker, the founder of the conservative trend in the political and legal concept in Russia in the late XVIII — early XIX centuries on the systematization of Imperial legislation. This article presents a comparative analysis of the views of N. M. Karamzin and M.M. Speransky on the problem of systematization. The search of ways and forms of systematization of Imperial legislation is also studies by the author. Proofs of the necessity of revision of all Russian laws by conducting codification work, as well as the replacement of obsolete laws are proposed in the article.
