Abstract

The article traces the evolution of the right to worthy human existence in the conseptions of pre-revolutionary Russian thinkers of the late XIX — early XXcenturies. It is noted that in the framework of the social-liberal current changes in understanding the content of the principles of «liberty» and «equality». Focuses on existing continuity of the previous approaches to the right to worthy human existence with approaches to socio-economic human rights at the present time. The author concludes that the main contribution of scholars is to consider the philosophical and ethical justification of the right to a worthy human existence, but not the development of legal structures to ensure these rights.
