Abstract

The article questions the legal status of the local administration on the basis of general theoretical approaches to the category of legal status. It is noted that the basis of any legal status of the subject is its constitutional and legal status which brings together all the elements of the legal status of a single system. Based on an analysis of available approaches to the structure of the legal status in relation to local authorities the authors consider the structure of legal status in such items as competence, responsibility and guarantee operations; given that, competence is revealed through such categories as proxies and objects of reference.
