Intermunicipal interaction — the sign of new quality of local self-government reflecting ability of municipalities on the basis of coordination and close interaction to solve common problems. Intermunicipal interaction in the Russian Federation only develops, thus, having prospect of further development. It is caused by that local self-government at the solution of the tasks and realization of powers often face limited opportunities in financial, material and other resources, especially, it concerns the settlement level of local self-government that in turn, doesn’t allow them to carry out the competence assigned to them fully. In the present article the main directions of intermunicipal interaction, a form, limits and prospects of such interaction of municipalities will be considered.
