Abstract

The article dwells upon the essence of appealing procedure aimed at revising the decisions of the first instance courts concerning criminal cases. It states that the appealing as a legal category is fairly common in other countries, for example, in the USA, UK and Western European countries and is reserved by the international regulatory legal acts. The authors consider the opinions of researchers (Yu. A. Lyakhov, A. S. Chervotkin, N. A. Kolokolov and others) concerning the concept of “appeal” and its contents. Elaborating different opinions concerning the contents of the appeal, the authors state that the essence of the appeal is the close relationship between its inner concept and exterior forms.

Keywords
