Abstract

This article dwells upon important issues of educating the future specialists in universities for law studies so as they become able to fight crimes in the modern environment. The article highlights excessive conservatism of the theory of law which is being taught in universities for law studies and not only goes behind a rapid development of new types of crimes and ways to fight with them, but even doesn’t try to keep up with them.The author lists the content of curriculum of basic legal courses in a number of universities for law studies as an example . The focus is on the tactics and methods of investigation of especially grave crimes against person and a number of other crimes using modern technological and forensic tools, discoveries in the genetics field, digital footprints and many other means. The author suggests to implement a number of measures which will enable using the educational independence of universities more flexibly, complementing the curricula with specialized courses of study and important topics which would match new criminal challenges and methods to fight them. The author gives an example of resolving similar problems in the Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
