Abstract

On the basis of the analysis of theoretical approaches suggested by Russian political scientists in scientific and educational legal literature, the analysis of the existing federal legislation, the legislation of the Republic of Mordovia, the author reveals the powers of the Head of Mordovia, i.e. the highest official of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. As a result of the conducted research the author finds out that a functional component of the constitutional legal status of the Head of Mordovia are his powers exercised, in particular, in the relationship with other legal entities in the system of public authorities. The conclusion about a possibility of systematization of powers of the highest official of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation is justified.
