Abstract |
The article considers the terminological correlation
of concepts “autocracy”, “sovereignty” and
“supremacy” that existed in pre-revolutionary
Russian political science. The definitions of these
terms in the works of A. D. Gradovsky, N. M.
Korkunov, P. E. Kazansky, N. I. Palienko, V. D.
Katkov, N. A. Zakharov are given. The use of these
terms in Russian legal doctrine and official acts of
the late XIX – early XX cc. is analyzed. The use of
the term “autocracy” to refer to external
independence of the Russian Empire, as well as the
relevance of its translation by Russian political
scientists as “sovereignty” is described. The author
draws a conclusion that ideas presented by Russian
political scientists in the late XIX — early XX cc.
are of great interest today. |
