Abstract

The article is focused on the organizational and legal basis of using different software and hardware tools that improve the road safety. The author generalizes the legal aspects of qualitative changes in the mechanism of exchanging information about road accidents based on the introduction of a specialized software package and information applications for detecting a location of a road accident and mutual notification of emergency services, interconnected with the Unified State Warning and Emergency Management System. The author explores the ways to contribute to the professional activities of the traffic police employees for attaining objectives of the Federal Target Program “Improving road traffic safety in 2013—2020”.
