Abstract

The history of juvenile courts (Jugendgericht) in Germany extends back over 100 years. The author has analyzed the Law on Juvenile Courts (Jugendger-ichtsgesetz) and dwells on the structure of these courts, certain peculiarities of composition of the court, and compulsory measures of educational nature appointed by the judge. The article also contains information on the organiza-tions which has a legal right to participate in legal proceedings. The author considers certain projects and programs which are implemented in the practice of work with children and teenagers with deviant behavior. Rich historical and practical experience of Germany in the sphere of crime prevention among the youth could be used in creating juvenile justice in Russia.
